I really like an LS50 as a center - it is good to have all three fronts sounding identical in calibration for movies/tv when I am not listening to music. Room modes are a property of the room and pretty much impossible to eliminate as I understand it. In my 5 x 4.3 x2.5m room I have a 40Hz main mode followed by a 50Hz dip. ![]() I am hoping a couple of bass traps and some of GIK Acoustics 242 art panels will do the trick - or at least ameliorate things a bit. Crossover settings have far more to do with the room than the System. It was kindly purchased new by a member and drop shipped to me and costs US 1,500 for a pair. Drive units: Uni-Q Driver Array (HF: 25 mm vented aluminium dome with Metamaterial Absorption Technology MF/LF: 130 mm aluminium cone) Frequency response (3dB): 79Hz28kHz. Are you using the high level connection This is a review and detailed measurements of the KEF LS50 Meta bookshelf coaxial speaker. Type: two-way bass-reflex stand-mount loudspeaker. Designed around the Uni-Q 12th Generation with Metamaterial Absorption Technology driver array, this solid, compact loudspeaker is capable of delivering detailed sound anywhere in the room. I have the same sub with the Metas and I have my crossover set in the 50-60s. LS50 Meta is a highly precise, emotionally engaging loudspeaker built on revolutionary acoustic technology. I think a lot of my problems are due to the "worst room shape possible (15 x 15 x 8, moderated by three door openings)", an L-shaped sofa and a window on one wall. The World's First Speakers with Metamaterial. I ended up with the LS50s quite a bit forward (23 inches) from the back wall and with the port foam removed. ![]() If the crossover is at 60 Hz the sub is not localized and you dont need 2 subs. ( In the new Meta ls50 they use another crossover with possible other steepness in topology - that also makes a small difference and this cant be bettered with PEQ. Good news for those who have that older model. I still have some annoying sharp room modes (I assume) based on REW at about 180 and 300Hz, but on listening, imaging is fantastic and voice is notably clearer. Anyways, KEF has hit a grand slam with the LS50 Meta+KC-62 combo. and those audible differences can probably turn to almost zero if one uses the PEQ funktion in a WiiM pro with the old ls50. Click to expand.I spent most of an afternoon adjusting my LS50s and subs (2 x SB1000 Pro) using the PEQ on the subs and the Audyssey calibrations on a Denon 4700 - ended up using a crossover of 100Hz. For example, when pairing LS50 Wireless II with a KC62 subwoofer, our engineers set the high-pass crossover point to 70 Hz and the low-pass crossover setpoint to 45 Hz.
